  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  • 1/2 cup chocolate shavings or curls for garnish
  • Fresh cherries optional, for decoration

Instructions
 

Bake the chocolate cake:

  • Prepare and bake the chocolate cake according to the instructions on the box in a Bundt pan to form a wreath shape.
  • Allow the cake to cool completely and then carefully remove it from the pan.

Whip the cream:

  • In a large bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.

Assemble the wreath:

  • Once the cake is cool, place it on a serving plate.
  • Slice the cake horizontally into two layers.
  • Spread a layer of whipped cream on the bottom half, followed by spoonfuls of cherry pie filling.

Top and garnish:

  • Place the top layer of the cake back on, then spoon more whipped cream over the top, covering it generously.
  • Add spoonfuls of cherry pie filling on top and around the wreath.
  • Garnish with chocolate shavings or curls, and decorate with fresh cherries if desired.
