Ingredients
  

For the Cake:
  • 1 box chocolate cake mix and ingredients required on the box
For the Filling and Topping:
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  • 1/2 cup chocolate shavings or curls for garnish
  • Fresh cherries optional, for decoration

Method
 

Bake the chocolate cake:
  1. Prepare and bake the chocolate cake according to the instructions on the box in a Bundt pan to form a wreath shape.
  2. Allow the cake to cool completely and then carefully remove it from the pan.
Whip the cream:
  1. In a large bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
Assemble the wreath:
  1. Once the cake is cool, place it on a serving plate.
  2. Slice the cake horizontally into two layers.
  3. Spread a layer of whipped cream on the bottom half, followed by spoonfuls of cherry pie filling.
Top and garnish:
  1. Place the top layer of the cake back on, then spoon more whipped cream over the top, covering it generously.
  2. Add spoonfuls of cherry pie filling on top and around the wreath.
  3. Garnish with chocolate shavings or curls, and decorate with fresh cherries if desired.
