Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • Optional add-ins: chocolate chips chopped walnuts, or sprinkles

Method
 

Preheat Oven:
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
Make the Batter:
  1. Melt butter and stir in sugar until combined. Whisk in eggs and vanilla until smooth.
Add Dry Ingredients:
  1. Mix in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until just combined. Fold in any add-ins.
Bake:
  1. Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25–30 minutes until set but slightly fudgy in the center.
Cool & Cut:
  1. Let brownies cool completely. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out hearts.
Decorate (Optional):
  1. Dust with powdered sugar, drizzle with melted chocolate, or add festive sprinkles.

Notes

Clean Cuts: Chill brownies for 20 minutes before cutting for sharp heart edges.
