Ingredients

  • 1 3.4 oz box instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 8 oz container whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed
  • 1 11 oz box vanilla wafers
  • 3 large bananas sliced
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries sliced
  • Optional garnish: extra whipped topping and strawberry slices

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls:
  • Whisk:
  • 9x13-inch baking dish or trifle bowl
  • Rubber spatula

Method

Make the Pudding
  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together pudding mix and cold milk until smooth and thickened (about 2 minutes). Stir in the sweetened condensed milk, then gently fold in half of the whipped topping until creamy and combined.
Layer the Dessert
  1. In a 9x13-inch dish (or trifle bowl), start with a layer of vanilla wafers. Add a layer of sliced bananas and strawberries, then spread a layer of pudding mixture on top. Repeat layers until ingredients are used up, finishing with pudding on top.
Chill and Serve
  1. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (or overnight) to let the flavors meld. Before serving, top with the remaining whipped topping and garnish with fresh strawberry slices.

Fruit tips: Use ripe but firm bananas to avoid browning too quickly.
