Make the Pudding
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together pudding mix and cold milk until smooth and thickened (about 2 minutes). Stir in the sweetened condensed milk, then gently fold in half of the whipped topping until creamy and combined.
Layer the Dessert
- In a 9x13-inch dish (or trifle bowl), start with a layer of vanilla wafers. Add a layer of sliced bananas and strawberries, then spread a layer of pudding mixture on top. Repeat layers until ingredients are used up, finishing with pudding on top.
Chill and Serve
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (or overnight) to let the flavors meld. Before serving, top with the remaining whipped topping and garnish with fresh strawberry slices.
Notes
Make ahead: This dessert tastes even better the next day!
Fruit tips: Use ripe but firm bananas to avoid browning too quickly.
For a lighter version: Use sugar-free pudding mix and light whipped topping.
Presentation idea: Serve in individual parfait cups for parties or gatherings.
