Ingredients
  

For the Cupcakes:
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup milk
For the Buttercream Frosting:
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk or heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pink food coloring optional
  • Sprinkles or edible flowers for decoration

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing well.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients, alternating with milk, until combined.
  6. Divide batter evenly among liners and bake for 18 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let cupcakes cool completely before frosting.
For the Frosting:
  1. Beat butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar.
  2. Mix in vanilla and milk, beating until fluffy. Add food coloring if desired.
  3. Pipe frosting onto cooled cupcakes and decorate with sprinkles or edible flowers.
