  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg yolk

Instructions
 

Preheat the oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.

Make the brownie batter:

  • In a medium bowl, mix the melted butter and sugar. Add the eggs and vanilla, and stir until combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until smooth.

Prepare the cream cheese swirl:

  • In a small bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, sugar, and egg yolk until smooth. Add a few drops of orange food coloring for a festive Halloween swirl.

Assemble the brownies:

  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly. Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture on top. Use a knife or toothpick to swirl the cream cheese mixture into the brownie batter, creating a marbled effect.
