Ingredients
  

For the Brownies
  • ½ cup 1 stick unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
For the Frosting
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter softened
  • 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
  • 1 –2 tbsp milk or heavy cream
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Christmas sprinkles for decorating

Method
 

Make the Brownie Batter
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8 pan with parchment.
  2. Whisk melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Add cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir until smooth.
Bake
  1. Spread batter into the pan and bake for 22–25 minutes, until the center looks set.
  2. Cool completely before frosting.
Make the Frosting
  1. Beat softened butter until creamy. Add powdered sugar, milk, vanilla, and salt. Beat until smooth and fluffy.
Frost & Decorate
  1. Spread frosting over cooled brownies, then shower with Christmas sprinkles.
  2. Cut into squares and serve!

Notes

Extra fudgy: Underbake by 1–2 minutes.
Make ahead: Frosted brownies stay fresh 2–3 days covered or 5 days in the fridge.
Flavor twist: Add ½ tsp peppermint extract to the frosting for a candy-cane touch.
