Classic Marinara Sauce:

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can 14 oz crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  • Add minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  • Stir in crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper.
  • Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Use as a pasta sauce, pizza sauce, or dipping sauce for breadsticks.
