- Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper.
- Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Use as a pasta sauce, pizza sauce, or dipping sauce for breadsticks.
