Ingredients
  

  • 1½ lbs ground beef 85% lean recommended
  • 1 packet dry French onion soup mix 1 oz
  • 1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1/3 cup ketchup plus extra for topping
  • 1/4 cup sour cream for moisture
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella or Swiss cheese optional
  • 1 small onion finely chopped (optional, for added texture)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish optional

Method
 

Preheat Oven:
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease or line a loaf pan with parchment paper.
Mix Ingredients:
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, dry soup mix, breadcrumbs, eggs, ketchup, sour cream, Worcestershire, and cheese (if using). Add chopped onion if you like extra texture.
Shape and Bake:
  1. Form mixture into a loaf and place in prepared pan. Spread a thin layer of ketchup over the top if desired.
Bake:
  1. Bake for 50–55 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). Let rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing.
Serve:
  1. Slice and serve with mashed potatoes, green beans, or a crisp salad.

Notes

Want it juicier? Add a splash of milk or extra sour cream to the mix.
For a cheesy top, sprinkle mozzarella or Swiss cheese over the loaf in the last 10 minutes of baking.
You can double the recipe and freeze one loaf before baking for later.
Leftovers make great meatloaf sandwiches the next day!
