Ingredients
  

  • 4 slices artisan sourdough bread
  • 2 tbsp salted butter softened
  • 2 slices white cheddar cheese
  • 2 slices mozzarella cheese or low-moisture part-skim mozzarella
  • Optional: pinch of garlic powder or Italian seasoning for extra flavor

Method
 

Prepare the Bread:
  1. Spread softened butter evenly on one side of each bread slice. If you like, sprinkle a tiny pinch of garlic powder or seasoning into the butter for extra flavor.
Assemble the Sandwiches:
  1. Place 1 slice of mozzarella and 1 slice of white cheddar between two slices of bread, buttered sides facing out.
Grill the Sandwiches:
  1. Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium-low heat. Place sandwiches in the pan and cook 3–4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cheese is fully melted.
Press for Starbucks Texture:
  1. To mimic the Starbucks press-grilled texture, use a spatula to gently press down while cooking or place a heavy skillet on top for a panini-style finish.
Slice and Serve:
  1. Let cool slightly, then slice in half and serve warm with soup or a side salad.

Notes

Use thick, bakery-style sourdough for that authentic Starbucks chew.
Want more melt? Add shredded cheese inside or use a mix of gruyère and cheddar.
Keep the heat medium-low to avoid burning the bread before the cheese melts.
Great with tomato soup or dipped in a balsamic glaze!
