Ingredients
  

  • 2 sheets puff pastry thawed
  • 6 oz cream cheese softened
  • â…“ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup strawberry preserves or jam
  • 1 large egg beaten (egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp milk or water for egg wash
Optional Glaze
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 –2 tbsp milk
  • ¼ tsp vanilla extract

Method
 

Preheat Oven:
  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Shape the Hearts:
  1. Roll out puff pastry slightly. Cut heart shapes using a cookie cutter. Score a smaller heart inside each pastry without cutting all the way through.
Prepare Cream Cheese Filling:
  1. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
Assemble the Danishes:
  1. Spoon cream cheese mixture inside the scored area. Top with a small dollop of strawberry preserves.
Egg Wash:
  1. Brush edges of pastries with egg wash (egg + milk).
Bake:
  1. Bake for 18–22 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
Glaze (Optional):
  1. Whisk glaze ingredients and drizzle over cooled danishes.
Serve:
  1. Serve warm or at room temperature.
