Ingredients

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter unsweetened, xylitol-free
  • 3/4 cup milk or water
  • 1 egg
  • cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
Optional:
  • 1 tbsp rolled oats or chopped parsley for texture

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the peanut butter, milk (or water), and egg until smooth.
  3. Add in flour and baking powder. Stir until a stiff dough forms — you may need to use your hands to knead it together.
  4. Roll out dough on a floured surface to about 1/4-inch thickness.
  5. Use bone-shaped or fun cookie cutters to cut out treats. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 18–20 minutes until golden and firm. Let cool completely before giving to your dog.

Notes

Always use natural peanut butter without added xylitol or artificial sweeteners, as they are toxic to dogs.
Store in an airtight container for up to a week, or freeze for longer shelf life.
You can swap milk for water or unsalted chicken broth for extra flavor.
Adjust treat size depending on your dog’s breed — smaller dogs, smaller treats!
