Ingredients

  • 10 cups popped popcorn about ½ cup unpopped kernels or 1 bag microwave popcorn
  • ¼ cup butter melted
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp salt
Optional mix-ins:
  • ½ cup candy corn
  • ¼ cup pumpkin seeds
  • ¼ cup chocolate chips or white chocolate chips

Method

Prepare Popcorn:
  1. Pop popcorn using your preferred method (stovetop, air popper, or microwave). Transfer to a large mixing bowl and remove any unpopped kernels.
Make the Pumpkin Spice Coating:
  1. In a small bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, and salt until smooth.
Combine:
  1. Drizzle the pumpkin spice mixture over the popcorn and toss gently to coat evenly.
Add Mix-Ins (Optional):
  1. Stir in candy corn, pumpkin seeds, or chocolate chips while the popcorn is still slightly warm to help them stick lightly.
Serve or Store:
  1. Serve immediately for a warm treat or let cool completely and store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

Notes

Even Coating: Use a large bowl and toss gently — don’t stir too vigorously or popcorn may break.
Crunch Factor: Bake the coated popcorn at 250°F (120°C) for 10–15 minutes for extra crispiness.
Custom Flavor: Add a drizzle of caramel or white chocolate for a sweeter snack.
Make Ahead: Can be made a day ahead — just keep in an airtight container to maintain crunch.
Spice Adjustments: Increase pumpkin pie spice for a stronger fall flavor, or add a pinch of nutmeg or ginger for extra warmth.
