🍬 Easy Cracker Toffee Cookie Recipe (Christmas Crack)

Ingredients
  

  • 1 sleeve saltine crackers about 40 crackers
  • 1 cup 2 sticks unsalted butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • Optional toppings: crushed candy canes chopped nuts, festive sprinkles, sea salt

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil or parchment paper and lightly spray with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Arrange saltine crackers in a single layer on the baking sheet, edge to edge.
  3. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and brown sugar together. Bring to a gentle boil, then simmer for 3 minutes, stirring constantly until smooth and thickened.
  4. Pour the hot toffee mixture evenly over the crackers. Use a spatula to spread if needed.
  5. Bake for 5 minutes. The toffee will bubble.
  6. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee. Let sit for 2–3 minutes to melt, then spread evenly with a spatula.
  7. Add your choice of toppings while the chocolate is still soft.
  8. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes or until completely set. Break into pieces and enjoy!

Notes

Use club crackers or graham crackers as a substitute for saltines.
For a twist, try white chocolate chips or drizzle melted peanut butter over the top.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 3–4 days or refrigerate for up to 1 week.
