Ingredients

For the Sliders:
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 mini slider buns or small hamburger buns
  • 4 slices American cheese cut in half
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 8 –12 dill pickle slices
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
For the Special Sauce:
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp sweet pickle relish
  • 1 tsp yellow mustard
  • ½ tsp white vinegar
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • Pinch of paprika

Method

Prepare the Special Sauce:
  1. In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, mustard, vinegar, onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika. Refrigerate until ready to use.
Cook the Beef Patties:
  1. Form ground beef into 8 small slider patties (slightly larger than the buns as they shrink while cooking). Season with salt and pepper. Cook in a skillet or on a griddle over medium-high heat for 2–3 minutes per side, until fully cooked. Top each patty with a piece of American cheese and allow it to melt.
Toast the Buns:
  1. Slice slider buns in half and lightly toast in a skillet or oven until golden.
Assemble the Sliders:
  1. Spread a generous amount of special sauce on the bottom bun. Layer with cooked patty with melted cheese, chopped onions, shredded lettuce, and pickle slices. Top with the other half of the bun.
Serve:
  1. Arrange sliders on a platter and serve immediately, with extra special sauce on the side for dipping.

Notes

Extra “Big Mac” Layer: For a true Big Mac feel, you can double the patties and add a middle bun slice.
Make Ahead: Patties and sauce can be prepared a few hours ahead; assemble just before serving.
Bun Substitute: Mini brioche buns add a buttery touch.
Cheese Melt Tip: Cover skillet for 30 seconds after adding cheese to help it melt perfectly.
Serving Idea: Pair with fries or sweet potato wedges for a full slider meal.
