🌮 Chili’s Fajitas Recipe Card

Ingredients
  

For the Fajitas:
  • 1 lb chicken breast or skirt steak sliced thinly
  • 1 red bell pepper sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper sliced
  • 1 medium onion sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
For the Seasoning:
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp crushed red pepper flakes optional, for heat
For Serving:
  • Flour tortillas warmed
  • Sour cream
  • Salsa
  • Guacamole
  • Shredded cheese
  • Lime wedges

Method
 

Make the Seasoning:
  1. In a small bowl, mix chili powder, paprika, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
Season the Meat:
  1. Toss the sliced chicken or steak with 1 tbsp olive oil and half of the seasoning mixture.
Cook the Meat:
  1. Heat a large skillet or cast-iron pan over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken or steak slices 4–6 minutes, until fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
Cook the Veggies:
  1. In the same skillet, add remaining olive oil and sliced bell peppers and onions. Cook 5–7 minutes until tender-crisp. Season with remaining seasoning.
Combine & Sizzle:
  1. Return meat to the skillet, toss with vegetables, and cook 1–2 minutes until everything is heated and coated in seasoning.
Serve:
  1. Serve sizzling with warmed tortillas, sour cream, salsa, guacamole, shredded cheese, and lime wedges on the side.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate chicken in lime juice, olive oil, and half the seasoning for 30 minutes before cooking.
Slice vegetables thinly for quick cooking and even texture.
Serve on a hot cast-iron skillet for that authentic ā€œsizzlingā€ restaurant presentation.
You can substitute steak, shrimp, or a combination for variety.
