Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 1 packet taco seasoning or 2 tbsp homemade mix
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3/4 cup Bisquick mix
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Optional toppings: diced tomatoes sour cream, shredded lettuce, salsa, jalapeños

Method
 

Preheat Oven:
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish or baking dish.
Cook the Meat:
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and diced onion until browned. Drain excess grease. Add taco seasoning and water; simmer for 3–5 minutes until thickened.
Assemble Pie:
  1. Spread the taco meat evenly into the prepared pie dish. Sprinkle with shredded cheese.
Make Bisquick Mixture:
  1. In a bowl, whisk together Bisquick mix, milk, and eggs. Pour evenly over the meat and cheese layer.
Bake:
  1. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until golden on top and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool & Serve:
  1. Let rest for 5 minutes. Slice and serve with your favorite taco toppings.

Notes

Make it spicy: Add chopped jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the meat.
Meat swap: Ground turkey or chicken works great too.
Prep ahead: Cook the meat mixture ahead and refrigerate—just assemble and bake when ready.
Storage: Store leftovers covered in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave.
