Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 15 minutes
Servings: 10 treat bags
Calories: 170

Ingredients

  • 10 yellow paper treat bags standard size
  • 10 pink mini cupcake liners for erasers
  • 10 silver or gray paper strips about 1" x 5" – aluminum foil works too
  • 10 Hershey’s Kisses or chocolate points for pencil tips
  • Clear tape or glue stick
  • Scissors
  • Candy of choice Skittles, M&Ms, mini chocolates, etc.

Method

  1. Fill each yellow paper bag about 2/3 full with candy of your choice.
  2. Trim the top of each bag into a point to mimic a sharpened pencil tip.
  3. Tape or glue a Hershey’s Kiss (point facing up) onto the pointed end for the pencil tip.
  4. Wrap the bottom edge of the bag with a strip of silver paper or foil to resemble the metal band of an eraser.
  5. Flatten a pink mini cupcake liner and glue or tape it over the bottom of the bag to create the eraser.
  6. Fold over and secure the top flap of the bag if needed, and your pencil treat bags are ready!

Notes

Use double-sided tape for a cleaner, no-mess finish.
Add a gift tag or “Have a great school year!” note for a sweet personal touch.
Substitute yellow bags with kraft paper ones and decorate them with markers for added charm.
Great as teacher appreciation gifts, classroom favors, or first-day-of-school surprises.
